I started flat ironing my hair again. Since I’ve started taking Biotin and B12 vitamins to help with what I lack due to my diet, my hair has gotten stronger and longer!
I have to admit it. I’m the type of gal that tries almost every affordable haircare brand possible. Sometimes I even have 2 or 3 new bottles of conditioner and styling products sitting on my shelf. But there are some brand/products I always go back to since they work the best on my hair.
Since I’ve stop using heat (ie hairdryer and flat iron) and letting my curls out for all their glory, I’ve only brought two new products to try. Clear Scalp & Hair Therapy for Damaged and Color Treated Hair (above) and Shea Moisture Organic Coconut & Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie (below). I only wash my hair with shampoo once or twice a week, so I really like this shampoo. It left my hair clean, shiny and help diminish frizz. I read great things about the Ultra Shea, so I think I’ll see if my local drug store carries that one.
My new favorite haircare product though is the Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie! It’s an all-natural cream that ads shine and moisture to dry hair. I really love the smell. It’s so nice! I add it to my hair every night I put my hair up in two-strand twists. When I remove the twist-outs in the morning, my hair is ultra soft and curls are bouncy!
So, after a couple of month of going back and forth, I’ve decided make the transition from relaxed hair to natural, well sort of. ‘Cause I’m also of thinking of lightening my dark brown/almost black hair to a lighter brown or a reddish-brown color. Since I haven’t relaxed my hair for over year now, I think it’s a good time to start. I have been flat ironing it almost everyday. I would love to have hair like the girl in the sunglasses or the bottom right, but I’m hoping it at least can turn out like the middle bottom style since my hair is pretty short now.
I definitely plan on getting my hair lighten at my favorite salon down in Seattle, hopefully in July. My aim is to try to get it done before Amy’s Wedding. It will be a complete surprise for most of my friends since I’ve only discussed it with like four of them: BFF, Holly, my sister & Con-rad!
I need to do a little research on the transition, but does anyone have any tips on helping make this transition? Any products I should consider?
So I recently wanted to try a different hairstyle without cutting it again. I really want to grow out my hair instead of cutting it this summer, but I still wanted something different. So I parted it in the middle rather then having a side part. Does it look okay? Or do I look too weird? I have had it like this for more than a week, but I’m still not use to it…
No running today. I am really starting to like running in town early weekend mornings. I usually get up and out there before 8 am, but today I’m resting up for the 5k tomorrow. I hope I do well. Or rather, I hope to beat my sister 39 minutes. Fingers Cross!
