Bridesmaid Card

Some designs I made recently! These are cards that my sister wanted to send her girls that she wanted to asked to be her bridesmaids! She wrote everything, and I designed the cards. They were a total hit. I’m thinking of doing more and selling them online. Maybe offering personalized card designs and such.

DIY Halloween Cat-Ears

…or whatever you would like to call it! Dressing up for Halloween is always fun and last year I came to work as a Hogwarts Student. Of course I was in the Gryffindor House! This year I came to work as a black cat. Easy enough, except I really wanted one of those lace cat ears. Could not find one anywhere in Seattle, or at least in the north end…..

Glitter Shoes

As you may have read on an earlier post, my lil’ sister is getting married next year. We have already found the event location on the and they are finallizing their lists, we are now starting to move on to the “fun stuff” as she calls it. One thing on her list, glitter blue shoes. She really wants them to pop from under her dress, whichever one she decides on.

While we looked at glittered shoes at department stores, most were out of the price range, so the next thought DIY! I found this awesome blog that does just that:  Lauryn Gallowy Photography post: Handmade Weddings: Clean, Classic, & Crisp Glitter Heels.

Aren’t they awesome?!!

DIY Arm Party

One of things I love to do in my free time is make jewelry for friends and family! And this year, I’m on a bracelet kick. I’ve been getting several supplies ready for a weekend of jewelry making in July! I love finding new projects and a friend sent me a link to Craft Gawker. It’s like pinterest, but just for craft projects! I found some new bracelet projects to try!!! Yay!

Here are a couple that I’m definitely trying:

Utility Cord Bangle

Shirt into Bracelet

And Not quite a bracelet, but still awesome. Definietly making this for xmas present for the girls!

…What DIY projects are you planning to do this summer?

DIY-Friday: Apothecary Jars

When I saw this tutorial project I knew I had to make them! Apothecary Jar are a great way to hold items, and I really needed a better system of holding some of my jewelry and makeup tools!

What you need for this project is some glass candle holders, some various sizes of glass vases or glass bowls (with or without lids), and strong epoxy or glue. I got all my glass from the Dollar Store, which makes this project under $10.

After giving the glass a good cleaning and letting them dry. Use epoxy to attach the candle holders to the vase or bowl. I let it dry overnight to make sure it holds!

Now my makeup table is not covered in brushes, bracelets or the mass amounts of samples I have yet to use. I used some decorative glass pebbles at the bottom of the tall ones. So much nicer!
