Getting Ready for Summer

As gifts for myself (and I had already planned on buying them), I brought myself two new workout DVDs. I’m quite happy with this purchase, as the last time I brought some workout videos, I ended up giving them to mom, as they were a bit too beginner for me. I really wanted to get Jillian Michaels Kickbox FastFix once I saw that she some coming out with a new video. This video has three 20 minute kickboxing routines: Workout 1 -consists of toning your upper body; Workout 2- sculpting and toning of lower body; & Workout 3- Ab work. So far I’ve tried Workout 1 & 3, and its a great cardio burn! Love Kickboxing! Love Jillian!

Since I was buying it on Amazon.com, I also saw some great reviews of Personal Training With Jackie: Xtreme Timesaver Training. I must say, they were right. This one nearly killed me. I had to stop using my 5-lb weights and just do the workout without it. The plan is to buy 3-lb weights this weekend so I can ease my way up to 5, then maybe 8. But for now, I’ve got to go lower.

Jillian’s video feel more a cardio workout while Jackie’s is more toning and strength training! I like them both, and starting to plan to add them to my weekly routine of 2+ miles runs, and my other three favorite workout videos: Women’s Health Look Better Naked, Hip-Hop Abs with Shaun T, and Celebrity All-Star Kickboxing Burn. Gotta get ready for Hawaii in the Fall!

My birthday weekend was a blast! I got so much stuff and saw some great friends on Saturday night. A lot of drinking was involved, but it was great that my lil’ sister’s BF agree to be the DD. After all that indulgence I did during the four days, I have decided to do a two-day cleanse. It’s not too bad: A easy berry smoothie in the morning; green tea and fruit or veggies for a snack; salad and 4oz of lean meat with water for lunch and repeat the snack and another salad and 4oz of lean meat for dinner. My body is feeling a bit better than Sunday; Then again it could have been all the alcohol I had.

My Sephora purchase came in! I decided to use my gift-card I got for my birthday online rather than in store. You get more samples that way. But what made me made was I tried to order the dr. Dennis Face Peel, and they had to cancel the original order at the warehouse. Sigh. However, when I placed another order (without the face peel) they had some for samples. Well, that’s better than nothing I guess.

Birthday gift from my sister! I wasn’t able to order this Jason Wu for Target bag when it went on sale, but she found it at one of the Targets near her in Portland. She claims that there wasn’t much of a demand down there for them as it was up here in Washington.

Confetti Everywhere

I know, photos. I finally got some iPhone accessories to help me take photos for my birthday. I already had an tripod for my old camera (which my parents are using on their trip), but I really wanted one to hold my iPhone (since it takes better pictures and I have tons of apps to use on them). And while the parental-unit is gone, I’m going to take advantage of using the living room as my studio.

I really do much on my birthday. It was really much more of a relaxing and doing my own thing for once, than a big birthday bash. That’s for this weekend! Lil’ sister and her boyfriend are coming up from Portland, and we are heading down to Seattle for aquarium visit, sushi, shopping, and drinking with some of my friends! So looking forward to this weekend! Maybe we’ll go to that chocolate bar on Capitol Hill for happy hour!

Now I have to go find the vacuum, my gift from my BFF contained a massive amount of confetti, and it all over the house.
